World Cup Viewing Party

Description

To celebrate the final game of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, a free viewing party, presented by the City of San Jose, the San Jose Earthquakes, the San Jose Downtown Association and the San Jose Sports Authority will be held in Downtown San Jose’s SoFA Arts & Entertainment District. Featuring a World Cup Final live broadcast on a large Jumbotron, the viewing party will also include activities hosted by the Earthquakes, the only professional Major League Soccer franchise in Northern California, including a player meet-and-greet, a special kids recreation area, with Earthquakes Inflatable Slide, and a fun soccer skill area, the Earthquakes Speed Kick. In addition, SoFA restaurant and entertainment venues will be featuring special food and beverage offerings throughout the day. For outdoor viewing, fans are encouraged to bring their own lawn/portable chairs.

San Jose Earthquakes players will be on hand for autographs and soccer skill demonstrations.

South 1st Street between San Carlos and San Salvador Streets
Main Viewing Area: South 1st and San Carlos Streets adjacent to Caffe Trieste, 315 S. 1st Street, and Original Joe’s Restaurant
San Jose Earthquakes Activities: South 1st and San Salvador Streets near Wet and Bayonne.
Businesses Along S. 1st Offering World Cup Specials:
Café Shellana; Caffé Trieste; Bayonne; Blue Chip; Brix; Eulipia; Original Joe’s and Wet. Some will also offer indoor viewing areas.
