The Volunteer Center of Silicon Valley is committed to connecting volunteers with community needs and promoting volunteerism in Santa Clara County. We work with individuals, businesses, nonprofit agencies, schools and government organizations to help address community needs.

As a catalyst for inter-organizational collaboration, the Volunteer Center is the prime information and referral resource within Santa Clara County and the greater Silicon Valley. The Volunteer Center serves as the 501(C)(3) community based non profit organization clearinghouse which mobilizes and links the talents and time of diverse volunteers to help meet critical needs in the community.

We maintain essential and interrelated services and programs that provide a broad and dynamic array of committed community volunteers. Our core services include Information and Referral Services which includes tailored programs for youth volunteerism, senior volunteerism, corporate volunteerism, and situational assessment services for volunteers with disabilities. Emergency Information and Referral Services includes a variety of emergency preparedness training programs and tailored disaster response and recovery volunteer services. Additionally, the Volunteer Center sponsors the annual Human Race, a community-wide fundraising and community service promotion event. The Center also provides volunteer management training classes and produces a variety of volunteer publications and educational tools.

In collaboration with hundreds of community based non-profit organizations, public agencies, corporations, community service clubs and faith-based activities, the Volunteer Center is uniquely positioned to make effective use of a community volunteer pool that includes people of all ages, ethnicities and nationalities. We work with these groups to improve our community while continually recognizing those outstanding individual and groups who freely give of their time and talents.

As an organization dedicated to volunteer promotion, training and support, the Volunteer Center is ideally positioned to link a diverse and ever-changing pool of volunteers with the needs of the community.
