Upper Playground and the record store Persimmon exist in the same space, mixing music and skate/street wear in an effectively uptempo yet chill way. Their dedication to local artists and skaters is impressive: not only is there an Upper Playground skate team, but the second room of the store is an all-local art gallery. Featured artists on their clothing design include Damon Soule, Dale Dreiling, Ricky Powell, Gregory, Sam Flores, and Dave Kinsey. It's a cool and easy place to lose a few sunny afternoon hours.
