The historic Sainte Claire Hotel forms a graceful backdrop to the east end of Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park. Robert Graham's rendition of Quetzalcoatl is a flop, but I like the idea of Quetzalcoatl, and would be pleased to see a panoply of Aztec gods all over the city. It is time for a commerative to the Ohlone Indians - they inhabited San Jose for centuries before De Anza and the Spanish, and everybody else. A waterfall/stream monument with Ohlones fishing would look great. |
