This fine, omphalic stone is just down the path from capitalist Tony Ridder's bronzed sneakers (next page), on the west bank of the Guadalupe River. Two verses from Ecclesiastes have been carved in the stone as a warning to young men. Especially those contemplating marriage. As the text on the rock is difficult to read from the photo, I will include it here.

Ecclesiastes
7:25

I applied my heart to know,
To search and seek out wisdom
and the reason of things,
To know the wickedness of folly,
Even of foolishness and madness.
7:26
And I find more bitter than death
The woman whose heart is snares and nets,
Whose hands are fetters.
He who pleases God shall escape from her,
But the sinner shall be trapped by
her.

Note:
Any discomfort to heathens and existentialists, caused by the inclusion of scripture, is unintentional.
