WAVES thirty-two foot long Honduran Mahogany bar is the oldest bar still in service in San Jose. It started out life in the decadent city of San Francisco.

Joel Wyrick describes how he discovered it,
"The unique antique bar was found in a San Francisco saloon that dates back to the late 1800's. Installed in the San Francisco saloon in 1903, the bar was shipped from the East Coast's famous Brunswick Company, that era's premier commercial furniture maker maker of bars and pool tables."

"After the saloon went out of business in 1975, the bar was sold to an auctioneer. Later purchased by two Sacramento businessmen, the bar was never used. It sat in storage for 5 years before being purchased and moved to 65 Post Street."

Masks on the bar indicate Mardi Gras is just around the corner. Fat Tuesday.
