as akin to walking into a time warp with transportation services
to a bona fide Southern rib joint.
An anonymous soul overheard the following
in Jon-Jon's,
"the guy behind the counter
was talking about a "House of Blues" coming to the
neighborhood and speculating that it might cut into business.
I assumed he meant a franchise of L.A.'s "House of Blues,"
which is owned by Dan Akroyd or something like that. He seemed
to be grumbling about the City Council or redevelopment agency
. . . wanting to give preferential treatment, and getting on
his case because Jon Jon's has a BBQ smoking behind the building."
