Refuge Environmental Education Center Five minutes from Silicon Valley and you are in Sanctuary. Walking along the pickle weed and codgrass, you will be entertained by the sounds of Marbled Godwits, Yellow-rumped Warblers, Red-necked Grebes, Sharp-shinned hawks, and Rufous-crowned Sparrows, to name but a few. Fifty years ago, you would have seen Brown Boobys, Magnificent Frigatebirds, Least Bitterns, Buff-breasted Sandpipers, and perhaps even a Fulvous Whistling-Duck. |
