Marina Seafood Grotto

Originally the J.J. Pipe's Alviso Hotel (1905). At one
time there were six hotels in Alviso. This building is the last
remnant. In the "good old days" it is rumored that
"extra curricular entertainment" took place in the
upper rooms.

Lunched on a tuna salad sandwich, salad and fries. The food was
tasty and well prepared. The air-conditioner needs to be turned
down a few notches. It was cold, very cold. There is an actual
"grotto" in the dining room, and a stuffed Sailfish
on the wall. "Aloha" is spelled out with seashells.
2002 update:
Air-conditioning seems to be just
fine now. |
