Train to Christmas Town

About

Special holiday event hosted by the Santa Cruz & Monterey Bay Railway.  The event first began in 2012 in California and has expanded east to debut on the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad in Colorado and the Cape Cod Central Railroad in Massachusetts in 2013. 

· This family holiday event is based upon the children's book, The Train to Christmas Town and features original songs by the Grammy nominated duo Trout Fishing in America.


· This magical train ride departs from The Train to Christmas Town Depot, where passenger rail cars are decorated for the holidays a conductor is punching tickets while elves serve hot cocoa and cookies to everyone on the journey to Christmas Town.


· The book The Train to Christmas Town is read aloud while the woodland characters from the book greet the children including Bumblebee the famous Polar Bear.


· Upon arrival to Christmas Town (passengers are not allowed off the train), Santa boards the train making time to visit with each child and to give them a gift as well as pose for photos for those that wish to take them.
