About
TILT teaches young people the fundamentals of moviemaking and media literacy through hands-on training in video production. Our programs equip youth with the tools to critically understand media messages and to create their own alternative media. Through a combination of technical training and hands-on experience we give students the means to gain a meaningful voice in media and to tell their own stories.
TILT Summer Film Camp 2010
Film Camp puts you in collaboration with a small group of other aspiring filmmakers to take on the roles of a real film production crew. You will learn all the basics of video production from scriptwriting to storyboard, to shooting and editing. Finally you will put your new skills to the test and work together to make a short film. This all happens in three intense weeks of film boot camp, 4 hour workshops, 4 days a week!
Session I: June 14-July 1, Mon-Thurs, 1PM-5PM
Session II: July 12-July 29, Mon-Thurs, 1PM-5PM
Cost: $750/session
Ages: 13-18
The Freestyle Media Lab
The FML is a free, drop-in, afterschool program where young people come together, brainstorm and create something new, original and unexpected. All participants have access to the TILT Media Lab with different types of media equipment and software. This is the opportunity to collaborate, experiment and have a finished product at the end of each session. Everyone is welcome! All that is required is the desire to create and try something new.
Best for ages 14-19
