About
The Writing Salon, founded in 1999, is a year-round school of creative writing for adults (beginners to advanced). We offer small classes of 6 to 13 students held in comfortable, cozy settings complete with fresh-brewed coffee, tea and snacks. We are big enough to provide a wide selection of classes and teachers, but small enough to ensure intimacy and individual attention. Courses include one-day weekend workshops, as well as 5-week and 9-week weeknight classes, and are taught by a rotating staff of more than two dozen professional writers. All genres: fiction, poetry, personal essays, memoirs, screenwriting, playwriting, travel writing, food writing, publishing and more. Locations in San Francisco and East Bay (Berkeley).
