Plug Label's The Tones will be performing a live, in-store performance at San Francisco's Amoeba Music Friday the 27th at 6pm. Free admission, all ages.The Tones will also be available for a pre-show interview, sit-down, and autograph signing before they take the stage. Get there early if you can.
The Tones are progressive masters in the creation of soulful and honest Hip Hop in its most appealing form. Being compared to the likes of Common, Kanye West, Blackstar, Tribe Called Quest, Slum Village, and Little Brother...
This versatile duo consists of rapper-producer Retro and rapper-singer Suhn, who can sing anything from soul music to opera.
Since the group first formed in 2001, The Tones have toured with the likes of Common, Slum Village, Little Brother, Roots’ drummer QuestLove, and Dr. Cornell West to name a few.
The Tones are creators of music that transcends genres beyond hip hop, and simply put in the words of Grammy nominated artist Common, “[The Tones are] some real soulful brothers.”
