Starlight Cinemas presents The Princess Bride (1987, PG). Even ten-year-old boys will like this "mushy romance," in which Westley endures epic swordfights, monsters, poison, and torture all in the name of his true love, Princess Buttercup.Pre-show entertainment starts at 7pm. This week: be brave, stand up, and recite your 1-minute dedication to your "true love." Whatever or whomever that may be, here's your chance to share your Hallmark moment with the world. Also, be ready for some "inconceivable" pre-movie trivia and games.
The San Jose Downtown Association hosts free outdoor movies in San Pedro Square on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month during the summer. Bring your own chair or blanket. Grab food to-go from the series sponsors, La Pinata or Sonoma Chicken Coop, which will provide pre-movie specials. Downtown wine and beer sponsors will serve libations in the street.
