Workshop Activities
--techniques of creative nonfiction--travel, memoir, and food essays
--strategies to aid invention, composition and revision
--analysis of professionally published models
--writing exercises and workshopping
Registration
Workshop fee of $150.00 includes instruction, digital copies of reading materials, morning coffee, drinks at lunch and afternoon snack. Bring a bag lunch.

Instructor Kathryn Abajian earned her M.A. in English from San Francisco State University and taught writing at Diablo Valley College for eighteen years. She now facilitates writing workshops locally and in Italy (www.ItalyinOtherWords.com) and edits manuscripts. Kathryn's research into the life of landscape artist Ella Peacock resulted in her book, First Sight of the Desert, a blend of biography and memoir. Her travel, memoir and arts essays have appeared in various publications, including The San Francisco Chronicle, American Art Review, Salon.com and Travelers' Tales anthologies.
