Description

Exhibition Opening in the Walter and McBean Galleries at the San Francisco Art Institute. Conflict Resolution: Teddy Cruz and Pedro Reyes. San Diego-based architect Teddy Cruz and Mexico City-based artist Pedro Reyes have come together to deliberate on the relation between design strategy and social transformation in the age of globalization. Each working from within the context of his own projects, artist and architect have joined forces to examine-in fact, to grapple with-the notion of urban and geopolitical conflict as the principal catalyst for its own set of dynamic resolution procedures. Cruz and Reyes collaboratively articulate and embody, within the crossmedia work generated for this exhibition, the results of an intense and effectual exchange, negotiated over the last two years and into the future.
