Description
Stig Persson, in his debut U.S. solo exhibition of glass sculpture, entitled, THE BIG SILENCE, WORKS 2003-2008. The artist sculpts strict geometric shapes that at first glance appear as two-dimensional forms. Influenced by a variety of visual elements in his surroundings, an advertisement, a magazine turned upside down, or other materials, Persson explores the depths of form. In his exploration of the form, he utilizes physical qualities of glass, emphasizing the tension between the fragility of glass and it's transparency.
