Sonata No. 6, Op. 82; Sonata No. 7, Op. 83 & Sonata No. 8, Op. 84 by Sergey ProkofievStephane Ginsburgh has been praised for his daring and mature piano playing. Appearing regularly in recitals throughout Europe, the Middle East, Russia and the US, he often mixes works by contemporary composers with Classical or Romantic repertoire. In this recital Ginsburgh will perform Prokofiev's War Sonatas. Composed during the World War II, these three sonatas recall the gigantism of sound of Prokofiev's earlier style: sharp, thunderous and even brutal. Ginsburgh will perform the sonatas as originally conceived: a single ten movement work with no breaks.
