Nestled in the corner of a Sunnyvale shopping center, St. John’s feels like a cross between a Hof-Brau and an upscale burger shack. They have a wide selection of craft brews like the Hoptologist by Knee Deep, which lived up to the hoppiness of its name. They have food specials six days a week, including half-priced burgers on Saturdays. Try a Mole burger, with a properly juiced patty slathered in a spicy chocolate-based sauce and topped with avocado, pickled onions and cilantro. St. JOhn’s also has a shady patio and ample TV screens in the dining room, making it as ideal for a youth soccer after-party or catching a Sharks game with friends.
