Shady Shakespeare Theatre Company is committed to making Shakespeare accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds, and using it to build a community through cultural participation. Their mission is simply to share the profound works of William Shakespeare in a unique way that demystifies his rich and challenging language without dumbing it down or sacrificing its poetic prowess.
SSTC currently produces two plays in repertory each summer. Their popular Shakespeare Camp for Kids is but one segment of their eduction program, the Bard Academy of the Bay Area. This program serves to introduce young people to Shakespearean performance as well as offer opportunities for adults to advance their careers through training.
