About
The S.F./Peninsula branch of the California Writers Club is a networking, critiquing and marketing group for all kinds of writers (fiction, nonfiction, poetry etc.). it was established in 1964, as the second spin-off of the Berkeley writing group formed in 1909. Early members of that group included Jack London, poet George Sterling and short story writer Herman Whitaker. The S.F./Peninsula branch is the sponsor of the annual JACK LONDON WRITERS CONFERENCE and Jack London Writers Camp for Kids. It also holds monthly luncheons at Hobee's Restaurant in Belmont, where literary agents, published authors and writing teachers discuss the craft of writing.
