“What is it?” I asked again.
Lane said, “It’s Engineer Pass.”
I responded, “So…it’s not the side of a Holstein cow?”
“Uh, no.”
And that’s when I realized I had another “weird landscape” show on my hands. Through a number of portfolio reviews and surprise gallery submissions, “Scene Unseen” came into being. Each artist selected for this exhibition has photographed or created spaces and places that haven’t been seen like this before. From 360 degree views of futuristic Japanese train stations to long platinum prints of a never ending field of barrel-shaped cacti to a plugged in vacuum glowing in the center of a frozen lake, these images denote the magic that photography can be…how it can show us something we didn’t know existed and have never imagined.
“Scene Unseen” features photography by Erik Auerbach, Adam Ekberg, Lee Fenyves, Christine Laptuta, Daniel Marchand, Mary Parisi, Ari Salomon, Philipp Striebe, David Wasserman, Lane Wilson, and Eric Zeigler.
