About
Kendo, or Japanese fencing, is rooted in the sword-fighting techniques of ancient samurai. San Mateo Kendo Dojo <www.sanmateokendo.org/> was founded in 1981 in San Mateo, California and is instructed by high rank kendoists from Japan. Since San Mateo Dojo practices kendo as a part of City of San Mateo Parks and Recreation Department activities, we charges very reasonable.
New students and drop-in class observation are always welcome.
All you need to start is a shinai (bamboo sword) and gym clothes.
Class for beginners and advanced students. All age in one class. Suggested minimum age is 9 years old.
