Sally Kellerman, whose Oscar nomination for her role as Hot Lips Houlihan in Robert Altman's M*A*S*H* helped define her diverse and distinguished career, will once again celebrate her musical roots when she returns to the Empire Plush Room for shows on November 23 and 24 th.Her untitled show features Ms Kellerman collaborating with veteran writer/producer/musician Chris Caswell on keyboards as they present a pastiche of Caswell originals, jazz, blues and eclectic hit songs. Caswell spent over two months at the top of the Billboard Jazz Album Chart in 2006 as composer of lyrics to seven jazz instrumental classics for Karrin Allyson's Grammy nominated CD, Foorprints.
Sally Kellerman made her first album for Verve Records as a teenager and is currently in the recording studio with Caswell putting the finishing touches on a new CD comprised mainly of songs he wrote specifically for her. Sally's newest film, Prince and the Pauper, will be released later this year. She continues to receive praise for her role in Boynton Beach Club. Directed by Susan Seidelman and co-starring Dyan Cannon, Brenda Vaccaro, Joe Bologna, Len Cariou, Michael Nouri and Renee Taylor, the film has been hailed for its upbeat look at love after sixty. Entertainment Tonight dubbed it "Sex And The City For Seniors".
Sally last appeared at the Plush Room in October, 2006 following successful back-to-back runs as Madame Zinzanni in Teatro Zinzanni in 2004 and 2005 at Fisherman's Wharf. She then drew rave reviews as Dolores Montoya in Daniel Henning's stage presentation of The Wild Party in Hollywood. Though constantly in demand for national commercials featuring "the voice", Sally has spent a large portion of her time working with Caswell, presenting her music to club audiences in Los Angeles and elsewhere.
