Description

The High-Tech production of Rocky Horror Show pushes the boundaries of what can be done in live musical theatre to create a new genre of performance called "Musical Entertainment." The production is built around the technology of "virtual scenery." A portion of the proceeds benefits St. Baldrick's Foundation and their fight to conquer childhood cancer.

The intimate atmosphere of San Jose Stage Company's 200-seat theater lends itself perfectly to both the style of Rocky Horror Show and the unique use of back lighting and virtual scenery around which this production is based. In effect, the set is one giant 17-foot wide by 10-foot tall television screen. Strobe lighting and other effects are incorporated freely into the experience.

Audience members are encouraged to come in costume, and all five Midnight Shows will feature Rocky Horror Costume Contests. The winner of each contest (as voted on by the audience) will win a Rocky red iPod Touch.
