Description
Refuge means depending on something which can protect us. Three Jewels (Skt. tri-ratna) means Buddha-Dharma-Sangha, i.e., the enlightened one who taught the path to liberation, the teachings and the truths of the ceasing of suffering and the path, and the community of realized beings who can help us cultivate the path.A special feature of Buddhism is that the aim is for each of us to cultivate our own inner Three Jewels; each of us needs to achieve our own realizations, free ourselves from suffering, and become one of those enlightened beings who can help liberate others.
