Dr. Charlton is a adjunct clinical professor of psychiatry at Stanford Medical School, a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Medical Society, and a Supervisory and Training Analyst at the C.G. Jung Institute of Northern California. He is the author of over twenty professional papers and is the Editor and main contribitor of Treating Sexual Disorders, published by Jossey Bass.
