Seafood. For 35 years, Race Street Seafood Kitchen has been a bargain-priced, straightforward restaurant that dispenses with the white tablecloths and waiters and just focuses on the fish. Fried fish is the most popular, but it's the grill that stands out. At any given time, there are nearly a dozen kinds of fish and shellfish available: salmon, red snapper, scallops, prawns, halibut, ahi, catfish, etc. Served with rice and steamed vegetables for roughly $8 to $9, it's a real bargain.

----------------

Founded in 1969 Race Street Seafood Kitchen has been serving generous portions of freshly prepared seafood and poultry at reasonable prices.  Race Street Seafood Kitchen shares the same building at 253 Race Street as the San Jose landmark Race Street Fish & Poultry which was founded in 1947. The management team consists of Mike Murphy who has been with Seafood Kitchen for 37 years and Kevin Riparbelli who is a second generation family member. Their staff takes pride in friendly and courteous customer service.

Through the years the menu has evolved from a basic fish & chip restaurant.  Customers now have a choice of fried or grilled seafood.  Recently the menu has expanded to include grilled lobster tails and jumbo wild Mexican shrimp.

Race Street Seafood Kitchen’s  Clam Chowder won a Gold Medal from the Consumer Reaction Council at the California State Fair.
