Gant on Feb 12, 2010A LOT of people may have missed out the last time the Masters of Persian Music: Three Generations came to Montalvo Arts Center—the show sold out. The evening features some of the main movers in Iranian classical music: Hossein Alizadeh on the tar, a kind of plucked lute; Kayhan Kalhor on the kamancheh, a.k.a. the spike fiddle; and vocalist Hamidreza Nourbakhsh. They will be accompanied by Nima Alizadeh, Rouzbeh Rahimi, Siamak Jahangiry and Alireza Hosseini on such traditional instruments as santur, robab and tombak. Since it is Valentine’s Day, Le Papillon is hosting a romantic dinner at the historic villa at Montalvo, at 6pm (reservations required: 408.296.3730).
