The Portola Art Gallery presents “Water, Nature’s Gift” - a joint exhibition by Jan Prisco and Barbara Von Haunalter. The pastel, oil and watercolor paintings celebrate the beauty and diversity of Northern California’s waters — oceans, rivers, streams and bay — and the wildlife that inhabit them.

Jan Prisco is an award-winning pastel and oil painter. She is best know for her vibrant, colorful paintings of local scenes, from San Francisco to the Monterey Peninsula. In addition to exhibiting her work at Portola Art Gallery in Menlo Park, Jan teaches other artists at Filoli and several other locations.

Barbara von Haunalter paints impressionist plein air landscapes in watercolor and oil. Her strong design and subtle use of color offer a unique view on the traditional landscape. Barbara paints up and down the coast and at gardens, parks and private homes. She enjoys the fluidity of water media, with which she captures the cool colors of the ocean and the warm colors of flowers and fruits. She is represented by Viewpoints Gallery in Los Altos and the Portola Art Gallery in Menlo Park.

A reception for the artists will be held on Saturday, November 5, from 1-4pm.
