CalTrain Fares to Go Up

People who ride CalTrain can expect to see a rate increase with the start of the New Year. As of January 1, the cost of a one-way ticket from San Jose to San Francisco will go up to $8.50, 75 cents higher than the current cost of $7.75. The fare hikes are intended to help cover a projected budget gap of $2.3 million for the coming fiscal year.

Suspect Charged in Cold Case

Suspect Charged in Cold Case

On Tuesday, Santa Clara County prosecutors filed charges against Ralph Baldenegro for the murder of Julie Bucalo in 1991. The suspect is currently in San Quentin, where he faces a 94 year sentence for 12 felonies and a misdemeanor committed during the abduction of his son in 2009.
