Description
As Janis Selby Jones walks along the beach, she collects litter that has washed up with the waves or was swept out with the run-off. Single-use water bottles, plastic bags, balloons, toys, cell phones, cleaning products, and food packaging are some of the things curated by the tides. Many aspects of modern culture are represented in the detritus that she photographs with her iPhone. As she gazes toward the ocean, beyond the remnants of our daily lives, Janis can’t help but wonder what is on the horizon.exhibit dates August 25–October 3, 2015
