New Deal in the Works for Soccer Stadium

There already is an $89 million deal to build a new stadium for the Earthquakes near Coleman Avenue. It’s been there since 2008. Now, however, the city wants to make the deal even more attractive to Earthquakes owner Lew Wolff and two local developers in an effort to keep them from backing out. The proposed terms of the new deal would save the developers $4 million and give them an additional two years to buy it.

Now the community is trying to reinvigorate the project and hopes to have a new mosque in place within a year.

A Blimp Comes to Ames

NASA Ames Airfield will soon be home to the world’s largest blimp, the 235-foot-long, 65-feet-in-diameter Bullet Class 580, manufactured by E-Green Technologies.The ultra-modern blimp has more room for helium in its compartments, making it able to reach altitudes of 22,000 feet, far more than the standard blimps, which rise to 4,000-5,000 feet.
