Description

Where do the lines of humanity and technology cross, and what good can come from these projects for creating social value as well as value for business? This Mobile Musing session features insights and discussion from three mobile technologists whose distinct projects illustrate how technology created in the western world is directed to help humanity by affecting the lives of millions in emerging markets. There is something special about mobile technology that strikes passion, inspiration and opportunity in so many people everywhere in the world -- particularly in Silicon Valley. Everyone has something to contribute, an idea, a talent or a connection. Mobile Musings welcomes anyone with an interest in mobile technology to participate, share ideas and network with like-minded individuals. Hosted by Nokia, Mobile Musings is an open conversation that may take shape in a panel discussion, a presentation or the occasional demonstration.

Agenda: an evening of networking, panel discussion with three guest speakers, followed by a brief question and answer session.

Panelists:
Jofish Kaye, Senior Research Scientist & Ethnographer, Nokia Research Center, Palo Alto
Terry Winograd, Professor of Computer Science, Stanford University
Daniel A. Fletcher, Lloyd Distinguished Professor of Bioengineering and Biophysics, University of California, Berkeley
