Description
Culture Kitchen is a new kind of cooking school. The instructors aren't professional chefs, they are local women from all over the world teaching you how to make their family recipes. This Saturday, meet Norma and her teenage daughter who are teaming up to teach an intimate class on Mexican food from the Durango region. These recipes were passed down from Norma's grandmother, to her mother, and now to you. All levels of cooking experience are welcome and everyone will leave the class feeling confident in making these dishes again at home. On the menu are agua fresca (fruit juice), enslada (Salad) and mouthwatering gorditas (1 vegetarian & 1 meat). This class is for those who not only want to learn how to make authentic ethnic cuisine, but who also want to learn the personal story and culture behind the food.
