The corner of Dolores and 17th has been waiting for a café for years and finally, Maxfield's arrived. Although there are tons of great cafés in this area of town, Maxfield's has something unique; trees, shade, sidewalk tables, occasional live music, close to Dolores Park, etc. The coffee is good, the treats fresh. Check it out.
