Description
Masaki Batohw/ The Young Elders
MASAKI BATOH was born 1966 in Kyoto, Japan. In Kyoto there are lots of temples, religious structures, and Buddhist priests, that should have a great influence on MASAKI's musical world. With interested in rock scene (e.g. PINK FLOYD, VELVET UNDERGROUND, or some of Japanese psychedelic bands - FLOWER TRAVELLIN' BAND or TAJ MAHAL TRAVELLERS), he could master guitars and lots of stringed instruments.
In 1984 he and his musical fellows formed GHOST, an experimental outfit playing illusory, improvised, religiously psychedelic rock, and has already released 8 studio and 1 live albums. On the other side MASAKI has released two solo albums - 'A Ghost From The Darkened Sea' (1995) and 'Kikaokubeshi' (1996). They were reissued together by American independent label Drag City in 2004 as 'Collected Works 1995-1996' featuring two covers, 'Yoo Doo Right' by CAN and 'World Of Pain' by CREAM.
MASAKI is still active now, joining HELENA ESPVALL's tour and collaborating with her on releasing their self-titled album in 2008, or supporting DAMO SUZUKI's gigs ... he's carried so many works out. (Prog Archives: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp)
