Description
The Magic Makers became a reality after a conversation over coffee with a couple of parents and band director David Ladd Anderson at Peets in September of 2008. The dream was to create a performance band for developmentally challenged students. The idea was that music was a common thread for children to grow, gain strength, share joy and create awareness for themselves, family members and the community at large. Anderson works with the band on learning their parts and more importantly how to behave like musicians (how to behave in rehearsal, how to perform in a group environment, how to have fun making music) and hopefully, some of the good things learned can be applied to their everyday lives. The band has performed at several South Bay venues since their first performance in November 2008.
