Description

EN ESPANOL

Teatro Visions MACARIO, a one-of-a-kind theatrical adaptation of the classic Mexican novel and award-winning film, will return for a third annual production October 13-23, to the School of Arts and Culture at Mexican Heritage Plaza (1700 Alum Rock Avenue, San Jose).

Based on the the classic Mexican novel and acclaimed film of the same name, Macario tells the tale of a poor indigenous woodworker, living in colonial Mexico. Often compared to A Christmas Carol, the titular character, Macario, spends the play discussing the repercussions of his decisions with three supernatural characters-- God, the Devil and Death. The story is a well-recognized parable in Mexican culture and has become associated with the celebration of Dia de los Muertos. The play begins its final week at Teatro Vision on Thursday. It will be performed in Spanish with English supertitles. (NV)

All performances will be in Spanish with English supertitles.
