Description

A two-week long event to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Mexican Revolution. This art exhibition features murals created by Miguel Covarrubias, a Mexican painter, for the 1939 "Golden Gate International Exposition" on San Francisco's Treasure Island.

"The Golden Gate International Exposition" was San Francisco's response to the East being in the spotlight for the "World's Fair." The exposition produced some of the finest pieces of artwork and hosted America's first piece of Michelangelo's artwork, however "The Lost Murals" would become the centerpiece of the show.
