Description
Join us at the third annual “Lights Up!” festival for three days of new plays by up-and-coming Bay Area playwrights. See a play in progress and give feedback to the writers. These readings are so dynamic that you’ll forget the actors are holding scripts! Performances will be April 18-20, 2019.The festival also features visual artists Rachel Bakker (pottery), Linda Pomeranz (glass), and Chimeric Millinery’s Susannah Greenwood, as well as special refreshments. Keep an eye out for food trucks…
Here’s the lineup of plays:
Thursday, April 18, 8 p.m.: The full-length play Zac and Siah or, Jesus in a Body Bag by Jeffrey Lo. Directed by James Knipple.
Friday, April 19, 8 p.m.: The full-length play fish by Pat Pfeiffer. Directed by Hal Gelb.
Saturday, April 20, 2 p.m.: The one-act Picture Me Rollin’ by Diana Burbano, directed by Tonya Duncan, followed by five short plays based on the theme of power: The Little Lady by L.Z. Zephyr, reᐧsilᐧience by Eloise Coopersmith, Human Relations by Lynne Kaufman, The Passing of Andy Malone by Rebecca Royce, and The Turn-Around by Cary Pepper. All short plays directed by Virginia Drake.
Saturday, April 20, 5 p.m.: The full-length play Tournament de Champions by Max Tachis. Directed by Melinda Marks.
