About
Cabaret, drag and goth-industrial ho-downs keep the King of Clubs one of Mountain View’s quirkiest bars, a draw for the entire LGBT spectrum. But it’s the no-cover karaoke with up-to-date musical selections that make this off-the-beaten path dive so universally loved. Regulars rave about Bruce Rogers, the DJ behind Kor Karaoke on Sunday, Monday and Thursday nights. Beware, though, of the “suicide karaoke,” where the host picks a number for a stumbling barfly to sing cold.
Though it's off the beaten path and a little tricky to find, it's well worth the effort for revelers who want to engage in some unhinged dancing and drinking fun. Four nights of the week host some of the most entertaining karaoke around, while Saturday nights welcome all dancers with "Latin fever."

A friendly destination on the valley’s gay and lesbian dance scene. Karaoke on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays with Bruce. Tuesday is Goth night; Friday night is reserved for Latin sounds. -- Metro Bars/Clubs, June 16-22, 2010

Best Karaoke
With regular karaoke Sunday and Thursday nights as well as “suicide karaoke” on Mondays (the DJ picks a number for a stumbling-from-the-bar victim to sing cold), King of Clubs is a favorite among the Silicon Valley’s stage-happy crowd. The song selection is unbeatable, and the bar’s wireless mics keep even the karaoke-wary involved, as they can ditch the stage for the comfort of friends and a private booth. With a diverse crowd that draws from the area’s gay and straight communities, King of Clubs is a great place to showcase a hidden talent—or at least give it a try.
