Description
The Film and Digital Media at UC Santa Cruz invites you to a screening of the documentary, Far From Poland, directed by Jill Godmilow. The film combines archival footage, revolutionary tracts, historical reenactments, political satire, and swatches of soap opera to dismantle the sinister symmetry of the Cold War while remaking documentary film aesthetics. Jill Godmilow has produced and directed award-winning political nonfiction film for several decades, including Antonia: A Portrait of the Woman; Waiting for the Moon; Roy Cohn/Jack Smith; What Farocki Taught; and Lear '87 Archive. The screening will take place in Communications Building, Studio C.
