About
Buys and sells quality early Californian and American paintings, from the late 1800s and the early 1900s, as well as contemporary local artists. The gallery has recently acquired a major collection by the well-known artist S.C.Yuan, who lived and painted on the Peninsula from 1952 until his death in 1974.
Contemporary artists include Michael Obermeyer, whose name is familiar to many as the First Place winner of the 1999 Carmel Art Festival Plein Air Painting Competition and Edward Norton Ward, who was voted "Best Local Artist" in 2000 and 2001. Other featured artists include Jessie Arms Botke, Maurice Brown, Alice Chittendon, Guy Rose, Edgar Payne, Armin Hansen and many others.
