Description
Jacob Pfeiffer (b. 1974) works in oil and is equally at home painting still-lifes, figures and trompe l'oeil. He is a meticulous draftsman who paints his surroundings and selects objects that whet his appetite and capture his attention. He has an excellent eye for observing detail, nuance and a sense of time and place. His colors are true and his compositions are playful and poignant.Pfeiffer graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. From an early age he knew he wanted to become a professional artist and has steadfastly worked toward that goal.
Pfeiffer's paintings are popular and his collector base is nation wide. In addition to his San Francisco exhibitions, his work has also been shown at The Arnot Art Museum, in Elmira, NY; the Museum of Fine Art, FSU, Tallahassee, FL; the Sangre De Cristo Arts Center in Pueblo, CO and can be found in major private collections across the country. He is a painter with unlimited potential.
Pfeiffer is in the process of preparing for his seventh one man exhibition with the John Pence Gallery which opens on November 16th and closes on December 15th. Prices for his works range from $2,200 to 18,500, depending upon size and complexity.
Randall Sexton (b. 1958) is a California painter whose colorful, loose style is admired by collectors and fellow artists alike. First tapped by John Pence in 1995 as our "Introductions" artist, Sexton has staged four successful one-man shows in our San Francisco Gallery.
Sexton moved to California from the East Coast in 1980, upon graduating from the University of Connecticut. He has been a fixture in the Bay Area painting scene ever since. Nowadays, Sexton is very well known around the community to the point where the San Francisco Chronicle covered his move from North Beach to Vallejo. A former instructor at the Academy of Art University in SF, he now instructs traditional fine art technique to the technophiles in the computer animation department at Pixar. In addition, he teaches private workshops all throughout the country.
Known as one of the premier contemporary Californian plein-air painters, Sexton also paints still lifes, figures, and portraits with equal panache. His versatility evidences a seriously dedicated painter who strives to stretch boundaries whenever he can. His colors are brilliant and accurate and his compositions are carefully constructed with closely observed detail. Sexton was recently honored with “Best of Show” in the 2006 Maui Plein Air Invitational juried by Jean Stern, Director of the Irvine Museum of Art. He also added the “Artists Choice” award from the 2006 Sedona Plein Air Festival to his long list of awards and achievements.
Prices for Sexton's work range from $1,250 to $12,500, depending upon size and complexity. His upcoming show will be in November of 2007.
