About Beat Shop:We have established beat labs on both coasts with the intention of bringing current music trends and professional music technology to people of all ages, with an emphasis on youth. Sponsored by Propellerheads Reason Software, Berklee College of Music, and Keith McMillan Instruments, we started at the Community Music Center of Boston in 2010, added a program at the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts in San Francisco in 2012, built a studio at the Oakland School for the Arts in January of 2014, and built another studio at the San Francisco School for the Arts in September of 2014. We are currently in communication with La Guardia High School of Music and Art in Manhattan, NY, Brooklyn High School of the Arts in Brooklyn, NY, and Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Queens, NY. Our goal is $1,000, which is half of the projected budget of one beat lab (around $2,000). Please help us raise money to build new labs in New York for 2015!
