Concert by:
Highland Way Duo
Back by request! The Highland Way Duo returns to the Lick Observatory, bringing the best of Scotland (and a bit of Ireland) to you.
Highland Way takes you to the Scottish highlands with kick-up-your-heels jigs and reels, heartfelt ballads, and songs of sly whimsy. Enjoy the vocals of Scotsman Brian Caldwell and the rapid-fire fiddling of Paul Graham Castellanos, master of all things strings, as they perform the favorite songs of Scotland and Ireland from the past to today.
Lecture by:
Dr. J. Xavier Prochaska, UCSC
Dr. J. Xavier Prochaska is Astronomer and Professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the UC Observatories and UC Santa Cruz. His wide-ranging interests include studying gas in and around distant galaxies and cosmic evolution in the formation of elements.
