The salon was designed by Mary Revelli of One Off Furniture, reflecting the creative ideas of owner Fritz Clay.

Hair Play specializes in all types of hair. They have color specialists that use progressive tone on tone techniques. The hair menu includes highlights, temporary, semi and permanent color, relaxers, body waves, perms, wash and style/set and blowdrys.

Hair Play's education program consists of an apprentice training program, advanced cutting, color, styling and finishing classes. The salon also has a "Styling Team" which is available for professional, entertainment and personal events.

The styling products Hair Play uses include: Redken, KMS, Framesi, Dudley's, Sebastian and L'anza.
