About
How would a sporting goods & outdoor store have a gallery? Glad you asked! At Sports Basement we do not spend our money on advertising in the traditional sense. Instead we partner with people and organizations within our community, and rely on the power of word of mouth and positive association to keep people coming back. Part of the way we build positive relationships with our community is providing spaces within all of our stores for community events, ALWAYS for FREE! We support our community, because you support us!
The Gallery del Grotto is the largest of the community areas within our Bryant store, and has the benefit of having a lot of wide open wall space that can be filled with art. On the first Friday of every month we hold a gallery opening for one (or sometimes a group) of local artists. We welcome artists of all mediums and levels, especially locals on the rise.
We are lucky to be right at the convergence of the Mission, SOMA, and Potrero districts.
