Eat Local Month is a volunteer group. Our goal is simple - to educate consumers about the economic, environmental, health and flavor benefits of purchasing locally based foods. “Local Foods" mean anything sourced within a 250 mile radius of San Francisco.The website lists:
PARTICIPATING RESTAURANTS featuring daily specials made of 100% locally sourced ingredients during October. Almost 40 spots span all cuisines including: Baraka, Chez Papa Resto, La Folie, Aqua, Mixt Greens, Pres A Vi, The Waterfront, Lark Creek Steak, Butterfly, Namu, Paragon, Kuleto's and More. SPECIAL EVENTS include seminars sponsored by the Commonwealth Club, chef demos at Bloomingdales, free tastings, media events and more
PRODUCERS - Learn about farmers and companies producing everything from honey, vegetables and dairy products to artisan pastries, fruit drinks and olive oil.
